There are total 246,458 auto rickshaws in Mumbai MMR as of 2008, Auto Rickshaws are three-wheeler scooters, which can accommodate three people. Apart from Buses, Trains and Taxis, Auto rickshaws play an important role of public transport in Mumbai. These could be quiet a nuisance on the congested roads of mumbai, but they offer a reasonable living for the Autowallahs (the drivers) as they are called. More on these on wiki

oops sorry about my answer... that picture was taken by canon d1000 but in low light and high iso that is why the grains. thought you had referred to today's monochrome..
