Ganpati Visarjan

This Ganapati Visarjan, I went out to shoot. Partly inspired by Sephi, who was conducting a workshop in Mumbai, one i wanted to attend but could not, and also because Indro was going out and I thought good to have some company. It rained cats and dogs that day, so finally went to powai lake at about 9:30 pm. It was quiet an experience, probably deserving a full post on challenges, and things to keep in mind. Here is one shot, dramatic view of Ganpati being immersed to waters. More details on the next post.

Happy weekend everyone.

the statue is in the middle of a lake? I thought they are usually immersed in the sea..

the best part here is it doesn look like a lake (to me) and you wonder where the reflection comes from... pretty shot!

Thanks Thoma. Guess it was just too dark at that hour. The light on the idol worked well

hey - not all roads lead to the sea. So yes they are immersed in sea on the western side. For those landlocked, the lakes work well. This one is pretty big.. the lake i mean. Thanks for comments.
